Meet Rafael, Founder of Oakron Flooring
“In Brazil, I helped people find a place to call home. Today, I help people improve those spaces.”
I’m Rafael, the founder of Oakron Flooring. I was born and raised in Brazil, where I spent five years working in real estate, helping people buy homes and apartments.
I came to the United States to study. Along the way, I met my wife, we welcomed our first daughter, and this became the place where we started building our life together.
Starting Oakron Flooring is another chapter in that story. In Brazil, I helped people find a place to call home. Today, I help people improve those spaces through flooring installation and hardwood refinishing.
I’m also a musician, and I continue my studies in the evenings and on weekends. Creativity, learning, and attention to detail are a big part of who I am, and I bring that same care to my work.
Oakron is a locally owned and operated business serving the Kansas City metro. To me, every project is personal: it’s someone’s home, someone’s investment, and a space they use every day. My goal is to make the process clear, treat your home with respect, and deliver work I’m proud to put my name on.

Is Oakron Flooring insured?
Yes. Oakron Flooring LLC carries insurance. Ask Rafael about the coverage relevant to your project before work begins.
How long will the work take, and when can I use my floors?
Timing depends on the area, preparation, installation method, and finish. We discuss the schedule before work begins. For refinishing, we explain drying and curing guidance for your chosen finish, including when to walk on the floor and return furniture or rugs.
Can you help me decide between refinishing and replacing?
Yes. We assess the wood’s condition, wear, and remaining sanding surface, then discuss what can be restored and what may need replacement. You can also compare new flooring options to suit your goals and budget.
Can you refinish my existing hardwood?
We can assess the floor’s condition and whether it has enough wood remaining for sanding. Share photos to start; an in-person assessment may be needed to confirm the scope.
Do you install LVP, laminate, and engineered hardwood?
Yes. Oakron offers solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, LVP, laminate, and carpet installation. We’ll discuss the product requirements and subfloor preparation for your project.
Are flooring materials included in the estimate?
Our hardwood refinishing price includes stain, polyurethane, sanding supplies, and standard equipment. New flooring installation is labor only unless stated otherwise. Flooring, trim materials, underlayment, and moisture barriers are identified separately in your estimate.
Can you help with baseboards, shoe molding, and transitions?
Yes. We can discuss removal and installation of trim, caulking, and transition pieces as part of your project. Materials, disposal, and other services are specified in the estimate.
How much will my flooring project cost?
Price depends on the area, layout, existing floor, preparation, material, and services required. Send a brief description and your approximate square footage so we can discuss the next step.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We’ll discuss access and furniture before scheduling. If heavy furniture needs additional people to move it, a separate fee may apply. Let us know about pianos, heavy beds, or other large items.
